A Jagged Musical Weekend Part 2: 9Works Theatrical Stages "Rent"

I am a Rent-head.  So, I was sooo excited when I learned that there will be a staging here in Manila.  I even almost auditioned for it.

Expectations are high, since Rent is very popular.  I, of course, have seen and own a copy of the movie.  I have also seen a few scenes of the video recorded stage production, but not by the original cast.  This is the first time that I would see Rent, live.

A Jagged Musical Weekend Part 1: Ateneo Blue Repertory Stages "Zanna Don't"

For their 18th Season Finale, Ateneo blueRep stages Zanna Don't! a musical fairy tale.

Tin learned about this production through a friend that was tagged in the post about this in Facebook.  She checked out the page and read a few things about the play.  She then texted the contact person indicated and we reserved for tickets.

I'm not really familiar with the story and this would be the first time for me to watch a blueRep production.  All I know is that it's a story of a the "Magical Matchmaker", Zanna and they live in an alternate universe wherein it is the norm for boys to fall in love with boys and for girls to fall in love with girls and straight people are subject to discrimination and ridicule.  Tin did some research on the play and discovered that Jai Rodriguez of Queer Eye was the first one to play the role of Zanna.

the Hawaiian Tropic splurge

i am addicted to sunblock.  for a fact i know that i look better on a lighter complexion.  but i love going to the beach.  i love swimming.  i love the sun!  but i guess, they don't love me as much.

my skin tends to skip the tan stage.  it goes directly to the look of being burnt.  i never learned to swim, but i'm still hoping that someday i will.  all i know is the dog-style of swimming (langoy aso).  and aside from that, once my skin get burned, it gets sooo painful after.

i guess, i learned the hard way.  i can't say i have found the solution to my problems.  i'm still checking the available aids at the market today, as to which would best aid me.  and so far, the Hawaiian Tropic products are doing the tricks for me!  so, when i had the opportunity (tin was not there to be my conscience in spending),  i went on and had a Hawaiian Tropic splurge!

this is in preparation for our first beach trip for 2010.
