The Start and End of a Theater Season

This weekend, we saw the start and end of the theater season of two theater groups: The Sipat Lawin Ensemble and The Ateneo Blue Repertory.

I was invited to see "Zanna, Don't!" staged by Ateneo blueRep again.  And I'm sooo glad I did watch it again.  I was able to get a copy of the soundtrack at last! Woohoo!  Thanks, RR! And I am so honored that they considered my notes/comments in improving their shows.

We were able to catch the 2:00 PM show.  It's not entirely a different set of cast, but the one who played Zanna and Roberta, was Law Camacho and Pauline Oyco, respectively.

Congratulations to BlueRep for a very successful season finale!  I'm sure you enjoyed it as much as I did!  Keep the passion for the stage burning!

Later that night, we saw the first production of Sipat Lawin Ensemble for the beginning of their theater season.  They staged their take on Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi, entitled, "Haring +ubu-L".

The cast is composed of great actors: Acey Aguilar, Nar Cabico, Sheenly Gener, Dorothea Marabut, Mara Marasigan and special guests.  This is directed by JK Anicoche.

I would have to wait for them to finish their run of this production before I disclose more details, but I promise you, this is a theater event you should not miss.  The talent and passion emanating from their performance is almost tangible.

You may see their production at the following dates and times and locations:

March 11 and 14, 2010 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM
Mogwai Cinematheque, Cubao X, QC

March 12-13, 2010 8:00 PM
The Living Room, U-24
1991 North Sy-Quia Apartments,
M.H. del Pilar St., Malate

What a way to start their theater season!  I am sooo looking forward to their next productions!
