For about 4 years now, we have been wanting to attend Bacolod's Masskara Festival. And this year, we thought we would be finally part of it. Unfortunately, they changed the date of the festivities and we already had our plane tickets booked. So, yet again, we missed the Masskara Festival. Of course, this would not stop us from having fun and exploring the City of Smiles and even beyond!
My succeeding posts would be all about our adventures in Negros Occidental and let me start of with something yummy! Chicken Inasal!
We all know about the numerous Chicken Inasal outlets we have here in the Metro already. But I guess what they say is sooo true, nothing beats the original.
So, if ever you see yourself in Bacolod City don't forget to have your dinner (I think that's the best time) at an authentic Chicken Inasal place. This is not a place for picky eaters though. They don't normally hand out spoon and fork, so you need to eat the authentic way as well, with your hands! There's a hand washing station in the middle of the place and a towel, which is not so fresh, so wipe your hands at the top most portion just to sort of be sure it's a bit cleaner. Hehehehe! But the fun and the flavor is definitely much more appreciated becasue we ate with our hands.
They are all conveniently lined up to serve you in the "Manukan Country" near SM Bacolod. And locals would say the best would be at "Nena's Beth III".
They also serve Chicken Ass, which I ordered and loved. Although, "Maricor" have the best Chicken Ass, "Nena's Beth III" didn't fail me.
We also ordered Chicken Skin and a small order of Oysters, but they served this mountain of rather clean shells! And it was only for Php 35.00!
The chicken was not even burnt! Just rightly cooked!
If I would get to go back to Bacolod, I would definitely have another helping of Chicken Inasal and Chicken Ass and Chicken Skin and Fresh Oysters on Sinamak! This makes me hungry all over again! For a hungry bunch of 5, our bill was only at Php 565.00! Very much cheaper than what we have here in Manila.
Whenever we travel, food is one of the highlights that I look forward to! And Chicken Inasal sure is one great yummy highlight of Bacolod!
